ed="T" n="0240b01"/><span class="tx">观察。于观察中独于称名叮咛劝之。其为</span> <lb ed="T" n="0240b02"/><span class="tx">本意亦显然也。但于百即百生義趣。让道</span> <lb ed="T" n="0240b03"/><span class="tx">绰善导释不委述之。要集之旨盖如此也。</span> <lb ed="T" n="0240b04"/><span class="tx">予故往生要集以为先导入净土门。而窥</span> <lb ed="T" n="0240b05"/><span class="tx">此宗奥旨。取善导和尙释再读以为。往生不</span> <lb ed="T" n="0240b06"/><span class="tx">容易矣。三读乃知。乱想凡夫依称名行决</span> <lb ed="T" n="0240b07"/><span class="tx">定可得往生也。但于白身出離已得决定。</span> <lb ed="T" n="0240b08"/><span class="tx">又欲普为众生弘通斯道。然时機难计。心</span> <lb ed="T" n="0240b09"/><span class="tx">怀犹豫。一夜梦紫雲大起遍覆四海。雲中</span> <lb class="tx">即唱<persName>佛</persName>号。我先自字曰南无阿弥陀<persName>佛</persName>。是乃</span> <lb ed="T" n="0240c17"/><span class="tx">吾朝以阿弥陀<persName>佛</persName>为字之权舆也</span> <lb ed="T" n="0240c18"/><span class="tx">又一时师语曰。当世之人不知法门分际。泛</span> <lb ed="T" n="0240c19"/><span class="tx">尔以谓。今时解脱生死甚难矣。我师肥後阇</span> <lb ed="T" n="0240c20"/><span class="tx">梨光圆才智过人道意幽深。自顾自身分际</span> <lb ed="T" n="0240c21"/><span class="tx">以为。今生不能解脱生死。若历多生恐隔</span> <lb ed="T" n="0240c22"/><span class="tx">生即忘永废<persName>佛</persName>法矣。不如受长命报待慈</span> <lb ed="T" n="0240c23"/><span class="tx">尊出世也。凡报命长者无过龙身。寧我求</span> <lb ed="T" n="0240c24"/><span class="tx">彼畜报。但海底有金翅鸟之难。远州笠原樱</span> <lb ed="T" n="0240c25"/><span class="tx">池深渊淸洁幽林缘隈。此处甚好。可以寓躬</span> <lb ed="T" n="0240c26"/><span class="tx">焉。便请领家得其许疏。终焉之时乞水入</span> <lb ed="T" n="0240c27"/><span class="tx">掌结印而死。一日彼池无风波澜忽起涾涾</span> <lb ed="T" n="0240c28"/><span class="tx">鼓击水面无一点尘。鄕里怪异。考其时日乃</span> <lb class="tx">徒入异趣。当时我早得此法门。不论信不</span> <lb ed="T" n="0241a03"/><span class="tx">为指授之。实堪遗憾也。呜呼当世之人有</span> <lb ed="T" n="0241a04"/><span class="tx">道心者徒期远生之缘。无道心者虚堕名</span> <lb ed="T" n="0241a05"/><span class="tx">利之坑。岂不哀乎。凡谓以自力出生死</span> <lb ed="T" n="0241a06"/><span class="tx">者。不知时機分际故也</span> <lb ed="T" n="0241a07"/><span class="tx">师曾有患疟。医疗无效。月轮禅合酷忧之。</span> <lb ed="T" n="0241a08"/><span class="tx">因命画工图善导大师肖像。于师之庵室</span> <lb ed="T" n="0241a09"/><span class="tx">供养。乃以告之安居院僧都圣觉。觉报曰。圣</span> <lb ed="T" n="0241a10"/><span class="tx">觉亦受疟疾。殆不任起坐。然师恩难报。贵</span> <lb ed="T" <lb ed="T" n="0241a24"/><span class="tx">示凡夫往生报土也。且如天台宗虽许凡</span> <lb ed="T" n="0241a25"/><span class="tx">夫往生。其判净土卑浅。如法相宗其判净</span> <lb ed="T" n="0241a26"/><span class="tx">土虽亦高深。不许凡夫往生。凡诸宗所谈</span> <lb ed="T" n="0241a27"/><span class="tx">其趣虽异总而论之不许凡夫往生报土。</span> <lb ed="T" n="0241a28"/><span class="tx">是故我依善导释義建立宗门。以明凡夫</span> <lb ed="T" n="0241a29"/><span class="tx">生报土之義也。然人多诽谤云。劝进念<persName>佛</persName></span> <lb ed="T" n="0241b01"/><span class="tx">往生何必别开宗门。岂非为勝他耶。如此</span> <lb ed="T" n="0241b02"/><span class="tx">之人未知旨也。若不别开宗门何显凡夫</span> <lb ed="T" n="0241b03"/><span class="tx">生报士之義乎。且夫人问所言念<persName>佛</persName>往生</span> <lb ed="T" n="0241b04"/><span class="tx">是依何教何师者。既非天台･法相。又非三</span> <lb ed="T" n="0241b05"/><span class="tx">论･花严。不知以何答之。是故依道绰･善导</span> <lb ed="T" n="0241b06"/><span class="tx">意立净土宗。全非为勝他也</span> <lb ed="T" n="0241b07"/><span class="tx">又一时师语曰。我立一向专念之義。人多难</span> <lb ed="T" n="0241b08"/><span class="tx">之曰。诸行往生俱是<persName>佛</persName>说。亦可劝进。何为</span> <lb ed="T" n="0241b09"/><span class="tx">扬一抑馀。且设劝馀行亦何妨碍念<persName>佛</persName>往</span> <lb ed="T" n="0241b10"/><span class="tx">生。然而强立一向专念之義。此有偏执失</span> <lb ed="T" n="0241b11"/><span class="tx">矣。如此难者不知宗之元意故也。经云。一</span> <lb ed="T" n="0241b12"/><span class="tx">向专念无量寿<persName>佛</persName>。释云。一向尊称弥陀<persName>佛</persName>名。</span> <lb ed="T" n="0241b13"/><span class="tx">若離经释而立私義则实可责也。经释已</span> <lb ed="T" n="0241b14"/><span class="tx">有一向之言。而强致难破是谤<persName>佛</persName>祖。非关</span> <lb ed="T" n="0241b15"/><span class="tx">吾也。又师曾连坐弟子安乐住莲事窥于</span> <lb ed="T" n="0241b16"/><span class="tx">赞州。严谴之日尙对徒弟演一向专念義。</span> <lb ed="T" n="0241b17"/><span class="tx">有西阿弥陀<persName>佛</persName><span style="font-size:8">ト云</span>者。作色言曰。师勿复言此</span> <lb ed="T" n="0241b18"/><span class="tx">事。诸弟亦莫复问此事。远境艰厄本由此</span> <lb ed="T" n="0241b19"/><span class="tx">事之兴起也。师曰。汝不见经释之文乎。西</span> <lb ed="T" n="0241b20"/><span class="tx">阿曰。经释之文虽是著明如世之機嫌何。</span> <lb ed="T" n="0241b21"/><span class="tx">师曰。为法轻命。吾死不悔。不可不敢言</span> <lb ed="T" n="0241b22"/><span class="tx">也。至诚之色<ruby chr="アラワレ">发</ruby>于辞气。见人涕泣感伏</span> <lb ed="T" n="0241b23"/><span class="tx">或时有镇西僧。行脚之次访吉水庐。师适念</span> <lb ed="T" n="0241b24"/><span class="tx"><persName>佛</persName>在道场。侍者迎而相对。行者问曰。称名之</span> <lb ed="T" n="0241b25"/><span class="tx">时繫心于<persName>佛</persName>相好可乎。侍者答曰。此实可也。</span> <lb ed="T" n="0241b26"/><span class="tx">师排道场户言曰。源空不然。唯思若我成</span> <lb ed="T" n="0241b27"/><span class="tx"><persName>佛</persName>十方众生称我名号下至十声若不生者不</span> <lb ed="T" n="0241b28"/><span class="tx">取正觉彼<persName>佛</persName>今现在世成<persName>佛</persName>当知本誓重愿不</span> <lb ed="T" n="0241b29"/><span class="tx">虚众生称念必得往生之文而已。顾以我分</span> <lb ed="T" n="0241c01"/><span class="tx">际纵观<persName>佛</persName>相好。实非是如说观。不加深凭</span> <lb ed="T" n="0241c02"/><span class="tx">本愿口称名号之为勝也。是则真实之行</span> <lb ed="T" n="0241c03"/><span class="tx">或人问曰。导师释本愿文略安心者有何</span> <lb ed="T" n="0241c04"/><span class="tx">意乎。师答曰。唯知众生称念必得往生。则</span> <lb ed="T" n="0241c05"/><span class="tx">自然具足三心。为显此理略而不释也</span> <lb ed="T" n="0241c06"/><span class="tx">或人问曰。日课称名六万十万而不如法<span style="font-size:8">ナルト</span>。</span> <lb ed="T" n="0241c07"/><span class="tx">与二万三万而如法孰为善耶。师答曰。乱</span> <lb ed="T" n="0241c08"/><span class="tx">想凡夫设是少数如法勤修事实难矣。不如</span> <lb ed="T" n="0241c09"/><span class="tx">课数之多也。科数之要毕竟在令心相续</span> <lb ed="T" n="0241c10"/><span class="tx">耳。只使念<persName>佛</persName>口头不绝则足矣。何必择如</span> <lb ed="T" n="0241c11"/><span class="tx">法不如法乎</span> <lb ed="T" n="0241c12"/><span class="tx">一时予问曰。若以智慧为往生要。吾随师</span> <lb ed="T" n="0241c13"/><span class="tx">励学业。若但称名其事为足更无他求。乞</span> <lb ed="T" n="0241c14"/><span class="tx">师示之。吾守之如金口说矣。师答曰。往生</span> <lb ed="T" n="0241c15"/><span class="tx">正业称名为要释文分明。不拣有智无智</span> <lb ed="T" n="0241c16"/><span class="tx">亦复显然。何必用学业为。不如一向念<persName>佛</persName></span> <lb ed="T" n="0241c17"/><span class="tx">疾得往生净土。値遇圣众听受法门也。又</span> <lb ed="T" n="0241c18"/><span class="tx">彼国莊严昼夜说甚深法。自然开发勝解</span> <lb ed="T" n="0241c19"/><span class="tx">证无生忍。但若未知念<persName>佛</persName>往生之義学而</span> <lb ed="T" n="0241c20"/><span class="tx">知之。粗知则足矣。设得廣学凡智无幾。莫</span> <lb ed="T" n="0241c21"/><span class="tx">徒好智解废称名之光阴也</span> <lb ed="T" n="0241c22"/><span class="tx">又一时师语曰。弘通净土之师世世多之。</span> <lb ed="T" n="0241c23"/><span class="tx">皆劝菩提心。且以观察为正。唯善导一师</span> <lb ed="T" n="0241c24"/><span class="tx">许不发菩提心亦得往生。又判观察以</span> <lb ed="T" n="0241c25"/><span class="tx">为称名助业。当世之人若不依善导意则</span> <lb ed="T" n="0241c26"/><span class="tx">恐难得往生也。昙鸾･道绰･怀感等虽皆为</span> <lb ed="T" n="0241c27"/><span class="tx">相承人师。而至其義则未必一准。当能</span> <lb ed="T" n="0241c28"/><span class="tx">辨别之。若不辨此旨于往生难易冥然有</span> <lb ed="T" n="0241c29"/><span class="tx">惑也</span> <lb ed="T" n="0242a01"/><span class="tx">又一时予问曰。人多劝持斋。此義如何。师答</span> <lb ed="T" n="0242a02"/><span class="tx">曰。凡出家人作法皆当如是。然至末代色</span> <lb ed="T" n="0242a03"/><span class="tx">力已衰。餐食亦减。以此弱报一食长斋恐心</span> <lb ed="T" n="0242a04"/><span class="tx">驰食境念<persName>佛</persName>不精矣。菩提心经云。食不妨</span> <lb ed="T" n="0242a05"/><span class="tx">菩提。心能妨菩提。各忖己分。行之可也</span> <lb ed="T" n="0242a06"/><span class="tx">又一时予问曰。于往生行业已得决定焉。</span> <lb ed="T" n="0242a07"/><span class="tx">但一期行履云何当保护耶。师答曰。凡僧尼</span> <lb ed="T" n="0242a08"/><span class="tx">之法有大小戒律。然末法人根实难堪矣。源</span> <lb ed="T" n="0242a09"/><span class="tx">空禁之谁人随之。只须要念<persName>佛</persName>相续。往生</span> <lb ed="T" n="0242a10"/><span class="tx">行业念<persName>佛</persName>为正。应守此旨而已</span> <lb ed="T" n="0242a11"/><span class="tx">又一时师语曰。受教与发心此不必同时。</span> <lb ed="T" n="0242a12"/><span class="tx">以发心有触缘而发起也。往岁有一住山</span> <lb ed="T" n="0242a13"/><span class="tx">僧。逢予问曰。我已久学净土法门粗得大</span> <lb ed="T" n="0242a14"/><span class="tx">旨。而未得发信心。以何方便成立信心。</span> <lb ed="T" n="0242a15"/><span class="tx">予谕曰。宜乞冥助于三宝焉。彼僧自其殷</span> <lb ed="T" n="0242a16"/><span class="tx">勤祈请久之。一日诣东大寺。会遇大殿上</span> <lb ed="T" n="0242a17"/><span class="tx">栋之日。见之须臾信心忽发。以谓。自非良</span> <lb ed="T" n="0242a18"/><span class="tx">工嘉谋巨材由何飞腾梁上。凡工尙尔。矧</span> <lb ed="T" n="0242a19"/><span class="tx">又<persName>如来</persName>善巧不思议力。我有愿生志。<persName>佛</persName>有引</span> <lb ed="T" n="0242a20"/><span class="tx">接誓。往生净土决定不违矣。一得此理无</span> <lb ed="T" n="0242a21"/><span class="tx">复疑念。彼僧复来语余其事。後经三年遂</span> <lb ed="T" n="0242a22"/><span class="tx">得往生。灵瑞尤多云。触缘起信如此。须常</span> <lb ed="T" n="0242a23"/><span class="tx">繫念乞冥助于三宝耳</span> <lb ed="T" n="0242a24"/><span class="tx">或人问曰。真言所修阿弥陀供养法此亦可</span> <lb ed="T" n="0242a25"/><span class="tx">为往生正行耶。师答曰。不然。<persName>佛</persName>体虽一随</span> <lb ed="T" n="0242a26"/><span class="tx">教其意不同。其言教阿弥陀是己心<persName>如来</persName>不</span> <lb ed="T" n="0242a27"/><span class="tx">可外觅者。净教所谓阿弥陀<persName>佛</persName>乃是法藏比</span> <lb ed="T" n="0242a28"/><span class="tx">丘发愿成就<persName>佛</persName>体在西方者。其意大异。不</span> <lb ed="T" n="0242a29"/><span class="tx">可以一混焉。况彼成<persName>佛</persName>之法。此往生之教。</span> <lb ed="T" n="0242b01"/><span class="tx">不可一同也</span> ed="T" n="0242b12"/><span class="tx">又一时师语曰。法门优劣由宗義转。学者</span> <lb ed="T" n="0242b13"/><span class="tx">虽多分别之者甚希。我朝真言乃有二流。</span> <lb ed="T" n="0242b14"/><span class="tx">所谓东寺真言･天台真言是也。就中天台所</span> <lb ed="T" n="0242b15"/><span class="tx">传真言其義不如东寺所传真言。所以者何。</span> <lb ed="T" n="0242b16"/><span class="tx">天台一山之内兼学显密二教。而以法花</span> <lb ed="T" n="0242b17"/><span class="tx">为宗本意。而言天台奥旨者即真言也。是</span> <lb ed="T" n="0242b18"/><span class="tx">乃不出显宗域内之真言也。东寺所传真言</span> <lb ed="T" n="0242b19"/><span class="tx">乃言非显宗之可比等焉。是则显宗域外之</span> <lb ed="T" n="0242b20"/><span class="tx">真言也。又我窥诸宗教相。真言･<persName>佛</persName>心两宗</span> <lb ed="T" n="0242b21"/><span class="tx">收取诸宗以为自宗教相。而废诸教以立</span> <lb ed="T" n="0242b22"/><span class="tx">自宗。自馀诸宗不取真言･<persName>佛</persName>心以为自宗</span> <lb ed="T" n="0242b23"/><span class="tx">教相。又不废彼两宗。故知于宗義则无与</span> <lb ed="T" n="0242b24"/><span class="tx">此两宗等者也</span> <lb ed="T" ed="T" n="0242c10"/><span class="tx">之乎。然吾立净土宗。通以观经前後诸大</span> <lb ed="T" n="0242c11"/><span class="tx">乘经悉摄往生行中。而对念<persName>佛</persName>废之。何独</span> <lb ed="T" n="0242c12"/><span class="tx">或人问曰。常住废恶修善之念念<persName>佛</persName><span style="font-size:8">スルト</span>。与常</span> <lb ed="T" n="0243a05"/><span class="tx">思本愿之旨念<persName>佛</persName>。孰为勝耶。师答曰。废恶</span> <lb ed="T" n="0243a06"/><span class="tx">修善虽是诸<persName>佛</persName>通诫。末世我等常多违偝。若</span> <lb ed="T" n="0243a07"/><span class="tx">自不乘别意宏愿恐难出生死者欤</span> <lb ed="T" n="0243a08"/><span class="tx">又一时师召予言曰。汝见选择集否。予对</span> <lb ed="T" n="0243a09"/><span class="tx">曰。未见。师曰。此我所述。汝当见之。我生存</span> <lb ed="T" n="0243a10"/><span class="tx">间不欲流佈。故未许他焉。师曾罹于微恙。</span> <lb ed="T" n="0243a11"/><span class="tx">方其复时。月轮禅合请曰。愿师撰集净土要</span> <lb ed="T" n="0243a12"/><span class="tx">義为吾垂训。惓惓服膺以备明鉴焉。于是</span> <lb ed="T" n="0243a13"/><span class="tx">师乃著选择集赠之。然此集中乃约净土</span> <lb ed="T" n="0243a14"/><span class="tx">门中诸行而念<persName>佛</persName>与诸行所比论也。是即</span> <lb ed="T" n="0243a15"/><span class="tx">净土宗观无量寿经之意而已。是故师述其</span> <lb ed="T" n="0243a16"/><span class="tx">意曰。此观无量寿经若依天台宗意则尔前</span> <lb ed="T" n="0243a17"/><span class="tx">教也。故成法花方便。若依法相宗意则为</span> <lb ed="T" n="0243a18"/><span class="tx">别时意。然依净土宗意则一切教行悉为念</span> <lb ed="T" n="0243a19"/><span class="tx"><persName>佛</persName>方便。故言净土宗观无量寿经也。师又</span> <lb ed="T" n="0243a20"/><span class="tx">曰。凡于圣道门皆修三乘四乘因而得三</span> <lb ed="T" n="0243a21"/><span class="tx">乘四乘果。故诸行与念<persName>佛</persName>不比挍也。于净</span> <lb ed="T" n="0243a22"/><span class="tx">土门诸行･念<persName>佛</persName>俱是往生之因。故诸行与念</span> <lb ed="T" n="0243a23"/><span class="tx"><persName>佛</persName>所比挍也。然而诸行则非弥陀本愿。是</span> <lb ed="T" n="0243a24"/><span class="tx">故弥陀光明不摄取之。世尊亦不付嘱。故</span> <lb ed="T" n="0243a25"/><span class="tx">导师曰。自馀众行虽名是善若比念<persName>佛</persName>者全</span> <lb ed="T" n="0243a26"/><span class="tx">非比挍也。又道绰･善导宗義不异。当辨知</span> <lb ed="T" n="0243a27"/><span class="tx">之。又圣道净土二门虽异行体是一也。義意</span> <lb class="tx">唇舌尙动。又比年老病相侵耳目稍衰。大限</span> <lb ed="T" n="0243b09"/><span class="tx">已近反复聪明。不亦奇乎。同三日语诸弟</span> <lb ed="T" n="0243b10"/><span class="tx">曰。我前身在天竺交声闻僧常行头陀。今</span> <lb ed="T" n="0243b11"/><span class="tx">来本邦学天台宗。竟开净土门专弘念<persName>佛</persName></span> <lb ed="T" n="0243b12"/><span class="tx">矣。诸弟问曰。师今往生极乐世界乎。答曰。</span> <lb ed="T" n="0243b13"/><span class="tx">极乐吾本邦也。盍归去乎。同十一日辰刻起</span> <lb ed="T" n="0243b14"/><span class="tx">坐合掌高声唸<persName>佛</persName>殆过于平时。闻人皆零泪。</span> <lb ed="T" n="0243b15"/><span class="tx">乃告诸弟曰。汝等高声唸<persName>佛</persName>。今阿弥陀<persName>佛</persName></span> <lb ed="T" n="0243b16"/><span class="tx">来。因为赞歎念<persName>佛</persName>功德。少时又曰。观音势至</span> <lb ed="T" n="0243b17"/><span class="tx">及海会圣众来。汝等见不。诸弟对曰。不见。</span> <lb ed="T" n="0243b18"/><span class="tx">曰汝等至心念<persName>佛</persName>。必得见之。又诸弟乞安</span> <lb ed="T" n="0243b19"/><span class="tx"><persName>佛</persName>像于前。手繫五色线以为临终引接之助</span> <lb ed="T" n="0243b20"/><span class="tx">标。师笑而指空曰。此外又有<persName>佛</persName>乎。吾十馀</span> <lb ed="T" n="0243b21"/><span class="tx">年来念<persName>佛</persName>功积。三昧成就频见彼土<persName>佛</persName>菩萨</span> <lb ed="T" n="0243b22"/><span class="tx">及诸莊严。于予何用假助标乎。同二十日</span> <lb ed="T" n="0243b23"/><span class="tx">当坊上紫雲起。雲中更有彩雲。色甚鲜明。</span> <lb ed="T" n="0243b24"/><span class="tx">状如画<persName>佛</persName>。诸人见之随喜感歎。弟子白曰。</span> <lb ed="T" n="0243b25"/><span class="tx">已有紫雲之瑞。师往生其近乎。师曰。善哉</span> <lb <lb ed="T" n="0244a13"/><span class="tx">平生时。临终平生岂可混同。平生行人纵起</span> <lb ed="T" n="0244a14"/><span class="tx">决定信心成就一念十念。其人自其而後</span> <lb ed="T" n="0244a15"/><span class="tx">不复称念。则顺次往生恐难剋果。後念罪恶</span> <lb ed="T" n="0244a16"/><span class="tx">障往生故。又纵犯小罪。若不忏悔则尙成</span> <lb ed="T" n="0244a17"/><span class="tx">往生之障。况犯四重五逆重罪而不用忏</span> <lb ed="T" n="0244a18"/><span class="tx">悔者。岂可得往生乎。是反不免恶趣者</span> <lb ed="T" n="0244a19"/><span class="tx">也。或曰。纵起深信常专称念。若犯重罪即</span> <lb ed="T" n="0244a20"/><span class="tx">当能忏悔念<persName>佛</persName>。若其不然则难得顺次往</span> <lb ed="T" n="0244a21"/><span class="tx">生也。此義尤善矣。夫乃至一念无有疑心上</span> <lb ed="T" n="0244a22"/><span class="tx">尽一形下至十声一声等之文。此即决定往</span> <lb ed="T" n="0244a23"/><span class="tx">生之依凭也。然一称念後不复用念。且信心</span>
